New Sewing Space
I have only been quilting for a year now and since I started sewing I have had my grandmother’s sewing machine set up on a folding table in a spare bedroom. Occasionally I would move everything down to the kitchen table and sew down there so I could watch TV while I pieced together my projects. I loved having all my supplies accessible whenever I had a few extra minutes to quilt, however, I had anxiety with my
mess quilting supplies strung out on the kitchen table.
For my birthday, I received a new sewing machine. I absolutely love my new Bernina 710 and decided I needed a new dedicated space for quilting and storing my fabric and move her off of the kitchen table….. and not up onto the folding table. It took a quick trip to Ikea to pull together two work stations and storage.
Now I have a dedicated sewing table for “Nina” and an extra table for fabric cutting or for a guest quilter. I love being able to see my fabric stash and some of my quilts that are works in progress and even some of my finished quilts that are ready to go to their new homes.
This space has already been used more than I thought it would be used.
